1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Decatur Junk Removal website and your engagement of our junk removal services. By accessing our website, submitting a quote request, booking a service, or allowing us to perform junk removal at your property, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

These Terms apply to all customers, including residential homeowners, renters, landlords, property managers, businesses, and any other party that engages Decatur Junk Removal in any capacity.

If you are booking on behalf of a business or organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Our Services

Decatur Junk Removal provides junk removal, hauling, and cleanout services for residential and commercial clients in Decatur, GA and surrounding DeKalb County areas. Our services include but are not limited to:

  • Residential junk removal, garage cleanouts, attic and basement cleanouts
  • Furniture and appliance removal
  • Estate cleanouts, eviction cleanouts, and property turnovers
  • Commercial office, retail, and restaurant cleanouts
  • Construction debris removal
  • Yard waste removal
  • Specialty removal services including pianos, hot tubs, safes, and RVs
  • Dumpster rentals (where offered)
  • Scrap metal recycling

We reserve the right to decline any job at our discretion, including jobs that we determine to be unsafe, outside our service area, or involving prohibited materials (see Section 6).

3. Booking & Scheduling

All bookings are subject to availability. Submitting a quote request form does not guarantee a booking. A booking is confirmed only when a member of our team verbally confirms the date, time window, and approximate price with you by phone or text.

We provide arrival time windows, not precise arrival times. While we make every effort to arrive within the confirmed window, factors outside our control (traffic, prior job overruns, weather) may occasionally cause delays. We will notify you as soon as possible if we anticipate being outside our arrival window.

Same-day service is subject to crew and truck availability. Confirmation of same-day service does not occur until a team member specifically confirms your same-day slot by phone or text.

4. Pricing & Payment

Pricing

All jobs are priced on an on-site basis after our crew reviews the volume and nature of the items to be removed. Phone or online quotes are estimates only. The binding price is the on-site written quote provided by our crew before work begins. We do not begin loading until you verbally approve the on-site price.

Pricing is based on volume (truck space used), weight (for heavy materials such as concrete), and complexity (access difficulty, specialty items). Additional charges may apply for:

  • Overweight loads (concrete, dirt, roofing materials billed per ton)
  • Specialty items (pianos, safes, hot tubs, RVs — disclosed upfront)
  • Items with specific disposal fees (tires, refrigerants — disclosed upfront)
  • Extended labor for disassembly or unusual access conditions (disclosed before starting)

Payment

Payment is due upon completion of each job. We accept cash, all major credit and debit cards, Zelle, Venmo, and CashApp. We do not accept personal checks unless arranged in advance for commercial accounts. No upfront payment or deposit is required for standard residential jobs. Commercial and government clients may be invoiced on net-15 or net-30 terms by prior arrangement only.

For dumpster rentals, a deposit may be required at booking. Deposit terms are disclosed at time of booking.

Overweight & Additional Charges

If a load exceeds the estimated weight and incurs additional disposal facility charges, we will notify you and discuss the additional cost before incurring it where possible. For dumpster rentals, overweight fees are applied per ton above the included weight and are disclosed in your rental agreement.

5. Cancellation & Rescheduling

Customer Cancellations: You may cancel or reschedule your appointment at no charge. We ask for as much advance notice as possible — same-day cancellation is acceptable but please call or text us as soon as you know so we can reallocate the crew time. There is no cancellation fee for standard residential appointments.

Commercial and Large Jobs: For commercial cleanouts, estate jobs, or specialty removals that require significant crew and equipment pre-planning, cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled start time may incur a cancellation fee of up to $75. This will be communicated to you at the time of booking.

Our Right to Cancel: We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule any appointment due to unsafe conditions, crew illness, equipment failure, or circumstances beyond our control. In such cases, we will notify you as soon as possible and offer the earliest available rescheduled appointment at no additional charge.

6. Prohibited Items

We do not remove the following items under any circumstances. Misrepresentation of items to be removed may result in immediate job cancellation with a cancellation fee for crew costs incurred:

  • Hazardous chemicals, solvents, pesticides, and herbicides
  • Motor oil, transmission fluid, and other automotive fluids
  • Liquid paint (dried empty cans are acceptable)
  • Propane tanks, gas canisters, and pressurized containers
  • Asbestos-containing materials
  • Medical waste, sharps, and biohazardous materials
  • Radioactive materials
  • Ammunition or explosive devices
  • Any material regulated under federal, state, or local environmental law

If prohibited items are discovered during a job, we will stop loading those items and may decline to complete the remainder of the job. You will be charged for crew time already spent.

7. Property Access & Conditions

You are responsible for ensuring our crew has safe, lawful access to the property and all areas where items are to be removed. This includes:

  • Unlocking gates, doors, and access points before our arrival
  • Ensuring pathways are reasonably clear of obstructions
  • Notifying us of any known hazards on the property (uneven surfaces, low clearances, fragile flooring)
  • For tenant-occupied properties: ensuring legal possession of the property before scheduling a cleanout
  • For encampment and property clearances: confirming all required legal notices have been served before our arrival

We are not responsible for damage to pre-existing conditions (damaged flooring, cracked walls, deteriorating pathways) that are present before our crew arrives. We will note visible pre-existing damage before beginning work.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Georgia law, Decatur Junk Removal’s total liability to you for any claim arising from our services shall not exceed the amount you paid us for the specific job giving rise to the claim.

We are not liable for:

  • Indirect, consequential, or punitive damages of any kind
  • Loss of business revenue or profits
  • Damage to items you have directed us to remove (once removed, items are considered discarded)
  • Acts of third parties or circumstances beyond our reasonable control
  • Damage arising from pre-existing structural conditions on your property

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or personal injury caused by our crew.

9. Property Damage

Our crew takes reasonable precautions to protect your property during every job, including protecting floors, walls, and doorways when removing heavy items. We carry $2M general liability insurance to cover accidental property damage caused by our crew.

If you believe property damage occurred during your job, you must notify us within 24 hours of job completion. Claims made more than 24 hours after job completion may not be covered under our insurance. We will investigate all reported damage claims promptly and in good faith.

10. Dispute Resolution

If you have a dispute with Decatur Junk Removal regarding a service or charge, please contact us first at the contact information in Section 15. We will make every reasonable effort to resolve disputes informally and promptly.

If an informal resolution cannot be reached, disputes arising under these Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Georgia. Any legal action shall be filed exclusively in the courts of DeKalb County, Georgia. You waive any objection to jurisdiction or venue in those courts.

No class actions: You agree to resolve any disputes individually and not as part of a class action or class arbitration proceeding.
